Old bikes brought back.Everything else fixed.
Shawey's is a working shed on Tiger Street. Classic motorcycle restorations sit alongside quads, ride-on mowers, push mowers and generators, with over 50 years of combined experience on small engines behind the bench.
A frame goes on the bench and a finished bike rolls off it
Old motorcycle repairs and restorations are the heart of this shed. Bikes come in stripped to a bare frame, get painted, rebuilt and put back together, and go home looking the way they did when they were new.
The Honda CB750 at the top of this page, the Kawasaki Z900, the BSA and the little blue two stroke further down were all done here. So was a green mower racer called Li'l Hatchet, because not everything that comes through the door is a motorbike.

If it has a small engine in it, bring it down
Motorcycles old and new, quads, mowers, generators and smash repairs, all through the same door on Tiger Street.
Classic bike restorations
Old motorcycles taken back to the frame and built up again. Strip, paint, rebuild, reassemble. The bikes in the photos on this page all came through this shed.
Motorcycle servicing and repairs
Modern bikes as well as old ones. Sportsbikes, road bikes and everything in between, in for a service or in for a proper fix.
Quads and ATVs
Quad bikes and ATVs serviced and repaired, from full size farm machines down to the little ones the kids ride.
Ride-on and push mowers
Ride-on mowers and push mowers in for a service, a repair or a rebuild. The mower bay is usually full, so it pays to ring ahead.
Generators and small engines
Generators, blowers and small engines of most descriptions. Carburettors stripped and rebuilt, and you get told what went wrong and why.
Smash repairs and insurance work
Smash repairs handled in house, including insurance work.
There is a Snap-on scan tool in the shed for diagnostics, and the aim is a fast turnaround on your gear.
Ring about a job
A family workshop, and it looks like one
There is no showroom here. There is a bench, a ramp, racks of oil and drive belts, a row of ride-ons waiting their turn, and usually a dog on the floor. Customers describe it as a family business, and they tend to mention two things: that the work is honest, and that you get told what went wrong and why.
“Nice Family business. Very helpful and good at what they do. Reasonably priced and very honest.”
